The long era of the Portuguese rule in Goa, combined with that of the Muslim and Hindu kingdoms, has left a permanent influence on the original style of Goan cooking. Most visitors, who have tasted Goan cuisine, truly get pleasure from this diverse and unique style of food, which has a distinct and unique combination of spicy flavors.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01:

Arrive in Goa. You will be greeted and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02:

This morning’s cooking session will be on classic North Indian food –    biryanis, maybe breads or luscious lentils – followed by a lunch of what you’ve created. The rest of the day is free.

Day 03:

After an early breakfast we start this morning with a visit to the bustling local market with your chef. See the fresh produce, talk with the spice merchants and perhaps buy some Goan cooking utensils and afterward we can visit the Spice Plantation Farm, an ancient plantation growing everything from vanilla and coffee, to pepper and cardamom. A tour through these vast gardens – practically a lush tropical forest – shows you how spices are grown and harvested. Sample an authentic Goan lunch. The excursion lasts about half a day, after which you have the day to yourself.

Day 04:

Lean to cook some fascinating dishes of South Indian and Goan Cusine! Fish curries, pepper chicken, fragrant rices, tangy dhals are just some of the many delights your Chef may teach you. Lunch follows overlooking the river. The rest of the day is your own. Perhaps spend a lazy afternoon by the pool.

Day 05:

Today you have the day to yourself; perhaps try a local day tour (speak to our representative who will have plenty of fun filled suggestions!).

Day 06:

Today is your final cooking session, and is a treat – where your chef will try and accommodate your special requests, Indian/Goan dishes you may have always wanted to know how to prepare. After lunch, the day is free.

Day 07:

A completely free day. Spend the day on the beach, wander round the flea markets, explore the city of Panjim or whatever you wish.

Day 08:

Departure from Goa. If you’d like to stay back in Goa for longer; can arrange that for you.

End of tour with Culinary Goa, hoping you have become a Goan chef in your own right!
