Detailed Itinerary

 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL DELHI

Arrive at Delhi and meet our representative who would escort you to the hotel. Freshen up after checking in and enjoy the lecture by the expert chef followed by spice shopping in the evening.

India has been famous for its spices and many a royal treasury in Europe has been generously drained to buy spices from Indian overseas traders. Saffron, cloves, and nutmeg, are some of the most sought after Indian spices

Dinner and night stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 2: DELHI

After breakfast visit several tourist hotspots of Delhi like Qutab Minar, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, and more.

Enjoy an Indian lunch at a restaurant. In the evening return to the hotel for a cooking demo by the chef who will teach you how to cook an Indian meal. Cook yourself one for dinner and relish the same.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 3: DELHI – AGRA

In the morning drive to Agra . Visit Akbar's tomb at Sikandra en route and have lunch at a highway eatery. On reaching Agra check in at a hotel and know more from the chef about Mughlai cuisine.

The Mughals brought Mughlai cuisine to India . Lots of butter, dry fruits, and spices like saffron and nutmeg are the essence of Mughali cuisine. The Kebabs, Biryani, Kofta, and Tandoori items are internationally popular among foodies.


Enjoy the evening exploring the city by yourself, shop for trinkets or just explore the vibrant streets of Agra

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 4: AGRA

After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour of Agra. In the middle of the trip we stop at an Indian restaurant to treat ourselves to a lip smacking Indian lunch.

Visit the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb. The Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. The Agra Fort is built in red sandstone and is located about northwest to the Taj Mahal

 

DAY 5: AGRA – JAIPUR

Have breakfast and drive to Jaipur visiting Fatehpur Sikri on the way, the erstwhile capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar before he shifted the capital to Delhi

Jaipur or the Pink City was established by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. The city is brimming with pink stucco buildings and an equally colorful people.  At Jaipur check in at the hotel, relish dinner and retire for the night.

 

DAY 6: JAIPUR

In the morning drive to Amber Palace and Fort, known widely for its intricate frescos and filigree work, and enjoy a ride on elephant back. More sightseeing follows this excursion.

Visit the Turban Museum and a Jaipur Theme Restaurant to savor traditional Rajasthani delicacies, part of which will be cooked right in front of you.

Rajasthani cuisine prominently uses grains, flours, spices and oils. It is mainly vegetarian and deserts are rich treats. Parathas, Raj Kachori, Daal Baati Churma, Kadhi, and Gatte Ki Sabzi are some of the most popular gourmet delights. At the hotel the chef will enlighten you about the use of spices in Rajasthani cuisine and prepare a rich meal before your eyes.  Enjoy the lavish Rajasthani dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

 

DAY 7: JAIPUR – DELHI - COCHIN

After breakfast drive back to Delhi domestic airport board the flight for South India old spice City Cochin Arrive to a warm welcome in Cochin , Kerala. Thereafter, our tour representative will escort you to the hotel. Relax awhile before setting out for a harbor cruise in the evening. Return for an overnight stay at your hotel in Cochin .

 

Day 08: COCHIN

On day 2 of the Kerala Culinary Tour, explore the famous Spice and Fish market of Cochin after breakfast. Attend a mid-afternoon culinary class that will acquaint you with Indian cooking. You will also be able to jot down many exotic recipes besides trying your hand at some cooking. You will stay overnight in Cochin.

 

Day 09: COCHIN – PERIYAR

As part of the Kerala Culinary Tour travel to Periyar by road. Known for its National Park, Periyar is peppered with many delightful rubber estates and tea / spice plantations. Check into a hotel on arrival and relax. Late in the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Periyar Lake. After your return from the National Park, attend another cooking class and learn more about delectable Indian dishes cooked with traditional spices. Stay overnight in Periyar.

 

Day 10: PERIYAR

Enjoy a nice walk through the Spice Village . Visit lush green spice plantations and breathe in the fresh aroma of spices. You will also attend a cooking class besides trying your hand at preparing some traditional delicacies. Return for an overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 11: PERIYAR – KUMARKOM

Your Kerala Culinary tour will take you to Kumarakom. Known for its bird sanctuary, Kumarakom is an oasis of tranquility that soothes both body and soul. Indeed, from mangrove forests to paddy fields, Kumarakom is truly a place worth visiting at least once during your tour to Kerala. Check into a hotel on arrival and spend the remaining part of the day at leisure. Stay overnight in Kumarakom.

 

Day 12: KUMARKOM

 As part of your Kumarakom tour, enjoy a boat ride to a local farm. Attend a cooking class around mid afternoon and learn to prepare Kerala seafood specialities. You will stay overnight your hotel in Kumarakom.

 

Day 13: KUMARKOM – MARIKULAM

Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast before transferring to Puthenangadi by boat. On arrival, travel to the beautiful Marari Beach where you can enjoy a fine range of beach activities. Stay overnight at a beach resort / hotel in Marari.

 

Day 14: MARIKULAM – COCHIN - DEPARTURE

Transfer to the Cochin airport/station and continue with your onward journey.
